Dyed Agate

Dyed Agate

Agate is a banded chalcedony mineral that is part of the quartz family. Agate dates back to the Babylonian age and it is still widely used for ornamental purposes today. The stone holds color well and is therefore often dyed in a bright array of colors, but it is still beautiful in its natural form. In healing it is often used to cleanse and stabilize, it helps diminish anger and tension, and brings the wearer a sense of safety and security.
