Black Agate is generally composed of silicon dioxide, it is a microcrystalline form of the mineral quartz. It is a very common stone found in almost all mineral environments but is mostly prevalent in igneous rocks. Like many other black stone, black agate is extremely grounding and protective, and activates the root chakra.
